The patterns tested most often, not a complete list. The JLPT publishes no official grammar list, and fuller references carry roughly three times as many.

〜ばif (conditional)安ければ買います。If it's cheap, I'll buy it.
〜たらif / when雨が降ったら、行きません。If it rains, I won't go.
〜ならif it is the case that日本語なら、彼に聞いて。If it's Japanese, ask him.
〜と (conditional)whenever / if春になると、桜が咲きます。When spring comes, cherries bloom.
〜てもeven if雨が降っても行きます。I'll go even if it rains.
〜のにalthough / even though勉強したのに、できませんでした。Even though I studied, I couldn't do it.
〜ために (purpose)in order to健康のために歩きます。I walk for my health.
〜ようにso that ...忘れないように書きます。I write it down so I won't forget.

〜させるcausative: make / let do子供に野菜を食べさせます。I make my child eat vegetables.
〜られる (passive)passive先生に褒められました。I was praised by the teacher.
〜させられるcausative-passiveたくさん飲まされました。I was made to drink a lot.
〜れる/られる (potential)can / be able to漢字が読めます。I can read kanji.
〜てあげるdo for someone友達に本を貸してあげました。I lent my friend a book.
〜てくれるsomeone does for me母がケーキを作ってくれました。My mother made me a cake.
〜てもらうhave someone do先生に教えてもらいました。I had the teacher teach me.
〜ておくdo in advance予約しておきます。I'll book in advance.
〜てあるhas been done (state)窓が開けてあります。The window has been opened.
〜てしまうfinish / do regrettably財布を落としてしまいました。I went and dropped my wallet.
〜ていく / 〜てくるgo on / come to暖かくなってきました。It has been getting warmer.
〜てみるtry doing食べてみてください。Please try eating it.
〜ところだabout to / just did今、出かけるところです。I'm just about to go out.
〜ばかりjust / only食べたばかりです。I have just eaten.
〜つづけるcontinue doing三時間歩き続けました。I kept walking for three hours.
〜はじめる / 〜おわるstart / finish doing本を読み始めました。I started reading the book.
〜がるshow signs of (third person)彼は寂しがっています。He seems lonely.
〜そうにないunlikely to間に合いそうにない。It doesn't look like I'll make it.
〜なさいdo (soft command)早く寝なさい。Go to bed early.
〜な (prohibition)don't (blunt)入るな。Don't enter.
〜あいだにwhile / during留守の間に来ました。He came while I was out.
〜うちにwhile (before it changes)若いうちに勉強しなさい。Study while you are young.
〜とおりにjust as説明のとおりにしてください。Please do just as explained.
〜によるとaccording to天気予報によると、雨です。According to the forecast, it will rain.
〜についてabout / concerning日本の文化について話します。I'll talk about Japanese culture.
〜のようにlike / as鳥のように飛びたい。I want to fly like a bird.
〜し〜しand (listing reasons)安いし、おいしいし。It's cheap, and tasty too.
〜ても いい / かまわないit's fine even if遅れてもかまいません。It's fine even if you are late.
〜必要があるneed to予約する必要があります。You need to make a booking.
〜こと (nominaliser)the act of泳ぐことが好きです。I like swimming.
〜の (nominaliser)the one that / -ing歌うのが好きです。I like singing.
〜ずにwithout doing朝ご飯を食べずに出ました。I left without eating breakfast.
